General Sir Adrian Bradshaw KCB OBE, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe

« Strategic Challenges to NATO »


The Generals speech will be titled "Strategic Challenges to NATO". Within this he will discuss the threat from Russia, understanding why Russia acts as it does and how NATO is counteracting this. He will then discuss the threat of Radical Islam and in particular its current most active manifestation of DAESH/ISIL. He will discuss how best to move forward in countering global Islamic extremism.
He will of course be open to questions on any issue after his speech.

Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe since 2014, General Sir Adrian Bradshaw is an Officer to her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II for 36 years.

After 2 years in command of the King’s Royal Hussars, he led the 7th British Armoured Brigade in Iraq and the 1st Armoured Division in Germany, before taking the lead of the British Special Forces. After being Deputy Commander for NATO in Afghanistan, he became Commander Land Forces UK Army.

His operational experience and his high-level strategic functions qualify him to approach the security challenges that NATO must confront.
