The History of Château Sainte-Anne

Brussels enjoys a vast wooded expanse on its doorstep. The Château Sainte-Anne lies on the edge of the Sonian Forest, 15 minutes from the city centre.

The Royal International Club Château Sainte-Anne is an international meeting place where more than 35 nationalities come together in a convivial atmosphere.

In addition to business people, diplomats and expatriates, this exclusive and multifaceted Club also brings together many Belgian families who can enjoy both the sports facilities in a unique environment and the many activities offered at the Château.

The founding of the club

The idea for the Club was born after the signing of the Treaty of Rome, negotiated at Val Duchesse. Many institutions tasked with implementing it settled in Brussels, which confirmed its international vocation by subsequently hosting NATO and a multitude of representatives of foreign private organisations.

The Château Sainte-Anne proved to be an ideal meeting place for these diplomats and figures, both Belgian and foreign, and the Club of the same name was founded there in 1959.

It is placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Philippe. As soon as you pass through the doors of the Château Sainte-Anne, national barriers disappear. Everyone feels at home in a warm atmosphere and an elegant setting.
