This fall, on November 3. 2020 one of the most important international events of 2020 will take place :
the election of the President of the United States.
This election will be taking place in the context of the Covid-19 worldwide economic shock and very high political, ideological and racial tensions in the United States of America. It will have very far reaching consequences for the future of that country, of the Atlantic Alliance and for the standing of the “west” in general.
Republican President Donald J. Trump will try to get reelected for a second term from 2021 to 2026 on an assertive national conservative populist agenda and former Democrat Vice-President Joseph Biden will try to defeat him on a liberal agenda most probably more inspired by Obama’s area policies.
On the evening of October 14th, for the third consecutive time, your Club will organize its “Brussels US Presidential Election Panel Debate” bringing together the two main sides and parties of that election.
We will hear two speakers, both American expats living and working in Belgium, and representing the Republicans Overseas and the Democrats Abroad associations. They will give us their opinions about this election.
Our distinguished guests are :
- Michael Kulbickas, the official representative in Belgium of the “Republicans Overseas”.
- Pauline Manos, the Belgium Chair of the “Democrats Abroad”.
Hold on to your hats!
