US Election Debate
This fall, the 58th US president will be elected. Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?
Historic levels of distrust in the political and business establishment around the world has been front and center in the presidential primary season, with the Democratic Party nominating long-time leader Hillary Clinton and Republicans taking a different course in the phenomenon of Donald Trump. As Europeans adjust to Brexit and rising popular discontent, attention turns to see what Americans will do. Globalization, trade, jobs, wages, terrorism and the rising distrust in the American international leadership will all be part of the debate as Americans make a decision on November 8.
Hold on to your hats!
We will hear two speakers, both American expats living and working in Belgium : Mr. Michael Kulbickas, the official representative in Belgium of the association “Republicans Overseas” and Mr. Ryan Winkler, a Democratic representative to the Minnesota State Legislature and representing the association “Democrats Abroad”. In addition, the GMF - German Marshall Fund of the United States, a leading think tank specialized in transatlantic matters, will also be present in the panel as a "neutral party", to help translating these issues into an European context. Mr. Peter Chase will be in charge of this.
